Khelelo's life is overshadowed by her childhood friend Masutane's success and charm. When Masutane's circumstances change, she offers Khelelo a place to stay since is not busy with anything just nurse's daughter waiting for her mother's salary and staying at home doing nothing but to her was an appreciation since Khelelo's mother once helped her with varsity fees to further her studies, little that she knew that is gonna be the end of their friendship.
They both settled in, and Khelelo'sresentment grows, fueled by Masutane's kindness, beauty, and accomplishments. The tension builds until Khelelo's jealousy boils over, leading to a deadly and irreversible act. She decides to poison Masutane through a drink that is prepared by her fiance.

Sello bonds with his daughter Mohau over music while waiting to meet Kgopotso, a film producer. When Sello plays his scores, Kgopotso says he will only give him the job if he sleeps with him, reminding him that Mohau may go blind without surgery. Drunk and enraged, Sello stabs Kgopotso, ruining his chance of working on the film. Mantwa pressures Sello to apologize, threatening to leave with Mohau if he refuses. During an online meeting, a Cape Town producer notices Sello’s drinking. After Sello apologizes to Kgopotso, another argument breaks out and Sello kills him. Mohau sees it happen and helps him burn the body. Mohau later dies from medication side effects after telling Mantwa what Sello made her do. Sello gets the documentary job but finds Mohau dead when he goes to tell her.

Project Overview

Once Upon a Concept: The Graduate Internship Edition is a comprehensive 4-month training and skills development program designed to equip film and television production graduates with essential workplace experience to take up roles in the film production the film production scarce and critical skills; scriptwriters, producers, directors, camera operators, sound operators, production designers, editors, and sound designers.

This edition will further provide marketing and distribution training to a total of 16 filmmakers whose films were produced as part of training and skills development programmes that were jointly supported by the NFVF, PESP and MICT SETA A total of 109 jobs were jointly created from the projects in the process, and 16 documentary films completed. Now that the films have been made, the films must reach the audiences they/ve been made for.
The roject is set to reacxh beneficiaries in Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Free State pending a country-wide recruitment drive.

2021

11 entry-level filmmakers from Limpopo, North West, Free State and Mpumalanga successfully completed Once Upon a Concept: the DOCUMENTARY CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT edition and received their 42-credits Statement of Results from MICT SETA.

2022

Bolobathaba Media Group implemented a MICT SETA supported 12-month Learnership Programme in Film and TV Production NQF5, with 25 learners on board. Through NFVF/PESP3, 11 entry-level filmmakers received R100,000.00 grants each to make their first films under Once Upon a Concept: the PRODUCTION edition.

2023

Hosted a graduation and award ceremony for the Class of 2022 MICT SETA Learnership Programme. 21 learners were awarded with Film and TV Production NQF5 Qualification. The films were screened to an audience at another NFVF/PESP4 funded project, NEW CROP FILM SHOWCASE.
